Bathrooms

The latest Houzz bathroom study found that the most popular master bathroom design is white and has clean, modern lines. We know it’s a bit more complicated. Start with the name. Many bathrooms don’t even have a bathing fixture and many that do opt for a big shower rather than a bathtub.

Style matters but function, comfort and safety are equally important. A private water closet, dual sinks and a larger shower are ideal for shared bathrooms. Consider a taller toilet and vanity and in-floor heat for comfort.  An adjustable hand shower and grab bar will make a shower or tub-shower safer and more versatile. For added accessibility, consider a curb-free shower,  wide bathroom door, lever handles and knobs. The EPA’s  WaterSense label will help you identify plumbing fixtures that balance water conservation and performance.
